The Canine Lyme Disease Antibody Rapid Test employs a sandwich lateral flow immunochromatographic method. The test card includes an observation window for monitoring the progress of the assay and interpreting the outcomes. Before the assay begins, the testing window features an unseen T (test) zone and a C (control) zone. When the treated sample is introduced into the device's sample hole, the liquid will flow sideways across the test strip's surface and interact with the pre-coated Borrelia burgdorferi recombinant antigens. If there are Borrelia burgdorferi antibodies present in the specimen, a visible T line will materialize. The appearance of the C line is essential, as it always emerges after sample application, indicating a valid outcome. This mechanism ensures accurate identification of Borrelia burgdorferi antibodies in the specimen.
